Citizens for Public Accountability

By signing the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, the nation's founders demanded that the people have proper representation in their government. Citizens for Public Accountability (CPA) is working to continue in this spirit by demanding that our local government be accountable to the people of our community.

CPA's Mission Statement:

Members of the Citizens for Public Accountability believe:
  • That our elected officials should decide all matters of importance to the public in open public meetings.
  • That public funds are to be spent only in the public interest.
  • That when public subsidies are provided to private companies, our elected officials have to demonstrate that the proposed expenditure of public funds is the most efficient and fair way to meet public goals.
  • That decisions to expend public funds involve balanced and extensive information.
  • That a high quality and healthful environment is developed and maintained for all citizens.
  • That a fair and safe community is developed and maintained for all citizens.
